Client: Regional association of commuinities (Microregion) Hornád

Type of client: public administration

Services: publishing, public relations, media relations

Target group: cycling enthusiasts, families with children – residents of Microregion Hornád and tourists
Situation:  Microregion Hornád unites 16 communities, mostly villages lying close to Košice, the city of 250,000, and to Hungarian border. A suitable place for cycling trips, communities have marked several cycling routes.

Details:

At the beginning there was preparation of a map for publishing, including texts and  photographs. Printing followed. Content and design was inspired by Austrian cycling maps. Promotional campaign lasted from February to June 2009. Distribution spots included Košice bookstores, cyclo-shops, information centers, nationwide book wholesalers and internet sellers. In the microregion we focused on municipality offices, newsstands, restaurants. Regional sports journalists each obtained a copy as a gift. We attended hiking and cycling days organized by Košice clubs and a hiking history exhibition in East Slovak museum. Cycling websites published relevant information about the map and had copies as competition prizes.

Results:

Better awareness about the local cyclo-routes and the microregion. Ouputs on the map and one route published on four websites. A two-page article in magazine Krásy Slovenska (Beauties of Slovakia), devoted to interesting places of the microregion, a number of sold maps via sellers and through our internal efforts.
